BACCA Accountants attaches great importance to the protection of your personal data. In this privacy policy, we explain what data we collect, why we do so, how we protect it and what rights you have.

2. What data do we collect?

We only collect data that is necessary for the operation of our website and our services:

  • Contact form: name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message.
  • Analytical cookies: anonymous usage data via Google Analytics 4 (GA4), only after your explicit consent.
  • Language preference: stored in your browser via localStorage. This is not personal data.

3. Why do we collect this data?

  • To answer your questions and requests via the contact form.
  • To improve the user experience on our website.
  • To collect anonymous visitor statistics and optimise our website.

4. Legal basis

The processing of your personal data is based on the following legal grounds in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Contact form: legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR) — we have a legitimate interest in answering enquiries from (potential) clients.
  • Analytical cookies: consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR) — analytical cookies are only placed after you have given explicit consent.

5. How long do we retain your data?

  • Contact form: your data is retained for a maximum of 12 months after the last contact.
  • Analytics: data is retained for 14 months (standard GA4 retention period).
  • Consent records: your consent choice is retained for 180 days, after which consent is requested again.

6. Do we share your data?

We do not share your personal data with third parties, unless we are legally required to do so. We use the following processors:

  • Netlify, Inc. (United States) — hosting of the static website.
  • Netlify Forms (United States) — storage and forwarding of contact form submissions (name, email, phone, message).
  • Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC — Google Analytics 4 (United States), only after your consent via the cookie banner.
  • Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC — Google Maps embed on the contact page. The map only loads after you click "Show map" or after your consent to analytics cookies. Google then drops NID/CONSENT cookies.
  • Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd — Microsoft 365 for incoming and outgoing business email (info@bacca.be).
  • Exact Online (Exact Group B.V., Netherlands) and Clearfacts (Aplyca BV, Belgium) — client portals for ongoing files, accessible via My Bacca by invitation.

7. International transfers

Our processors Google and Netlify process data in the United States. The legal basis for this transfer is based on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) in accordance with Art. 46.2.c GDPR.

Both parties provide adequate safeguards through their Data Processing Agreements and comply with the requirements of European data protection legislation.

8. Data Protection Officer (DPO)

BACCA Accountants has not appointed a Data Protection Officer (DPO). Based on Art. 37 GDPR, this is not required as we do not carry out large-scale processing of special categories of personal data.

Our website uses the following categories of cookies:

  • Necessary cookies: store your cookie preferences (consent status) and language preference. Essential for the site to function — always active.
  • Analytical cookies: Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for anonymous visitor statistics. Only after your explicit consent.
  • Embedded content: Google Maps on the contact page. Only loads after you click "Show map" or after you consent to analytical cookies.

  • Right to rectification: you can have incorrect data corrected.
  • Right to erasure: you can request that your data be deleted.
  • Right to restriction: you can have the processing of your data restricted.
  • Right to object: you can object to the processing of your data.
  • Right to data portability: you can request to receive your data in a structured format.
